Le nettoyage de plage attire un nombre record de participants

More than a hundred scouts, Cubs and leaders turned out for this year's national beach clean-up, working along the coast from early morning until the heat set in.

Cubs worked the upper beach while Scouts and Ventures took the rockier stretches. By the end of the morning the collected waste filled a truck, most of it single-use plastic washed in on the tide.

It is one thing to be told the ocean is full of plastic. It is another to spend three hours filling bags with it.
